I love bible journaling! At first, I was journaling only in my personal time with God but my kids kept asking me if they could help or draw a picture. So I decided to make it more of a family learning experience. I’m glad I did. As they get older it will make this bible even more special. It’s teaching my little one how to stay in the lines when coloring. It’s opening up their imagination while reading the word. It’s drawing us closer and teaching biblical principles in a fun way. Here’s a few of my favorite supplies:
We start by reading a bible chapter. I take turns reading with my child that’s old enough to read. As we read I tell them to picture the words in their mind. At the end I ask them what they saw or would like to journal. It’s amazing the things they say. We practice drawing on scrap paper then transfer it to the journaling margin. I let them draw and color the aspects they saw. Here’s a few examples we’ve done so far.
